某座位于深山的小城镇。虽说是乡下地方，不过车站的新干线可以通往大都市，附近还有湖泊以及登山客络绎不绝的山脉，所以近年还是算挺繁荣的。
住在这样的城镇中的「城一」去看了相识多年的友人「美惠」演出的戏剧。

虽然是虚构的故事，但是从剧中人物的角度来看就是现实。
从身为演员的「美惠」以及身为观众的「城一」彼此的角度来欣赏故事。

祭典的季节──夏天。

镇上已经充满了祭典的气氛，「城一」和朋友们因为布置会场的打工迎来了新的相遇。
沉默寡言的少女「香奈」、
活泼少女「阳夏海」、
稳重大姊姊「由香里」。

在相遇之外，还发生了一起小小的事件。
那是在暑假开始之前新买的智慧型手机。

「美惠」教了不擅长使用的「城一」NEEL这个通讯软体的使用方法。
手机因为讯息通知发出震动。

Deep in the mountains lies a rural town that attracts many tourists due to its beautiful lakes and hills, connected to the city by a single bullet train line.
And in that rural town lives a guy named Jouichi. He’s watching the play of his friend of several years, Emi.

Though it may be fiction to the audience, from the perspective of the characters in the play, it is reality. Emi enjoys the performance as an actress, Jouichi as a spectator.

It’s summer, the season of festivals.

With the town full of festivity, Jouichi is working part-time to help with construction, which leads to him making some new acquaintances.
The quiet girl, Kana.
The energetic girl, Hinami.
The gentle girl, Yukari.

Among all these meetings, a curious incident occurs.

Emi is teaching the technologically inept Jouichi how to use the chat application, NEEL.
But as she’s doing so, his new phone vibrates and a message notification appears.

“You have received a friend request.”

Jouichi has a puzzled expression on his face.

The sender... was his friend who he thought had committed suicide.
